Throwback Thursday-Celebrations

Happy Friday! Wow, this week went by so fast. I'm so excited that my blog-lift is almost complete. I think I may be the only scrappin' blogger that doesn't have polka dots on my page, well I guess there's a few.

This week Emma, at My Creative Time
challenged us to use the Celebrations cartridge with a birthday theme. I would like to state that everything on these two pages are straight, and even...I know it doesn't look like it, but it's true. My type A personality is really struggling with the pattern on this paper and that it looks like everything is uneven! Aside from that this was a fun project and I tried some new techniques, which is always great.

Recipe:
PP-My Mind's Eye
Kraft cardstock-Bazzil
Flowers and Bling-Prima
Journal Tag-Anna Griffin
Glitter-Doodlebug
Twine and Ribbon-Papertrey Ink
Embossing Folder-Sissix, Tim Holtz-Gridlock

All of the cuts are from the Celebrations Cricut cartridge. I mixed some blue and teal glitter to get a color that matched the patterned paper I chose. I ran all the letters through my Xyron, upside down, and then glittered them. I added a layer of Glossy Accents over the glitter to keep it from flaking off. It does take a couple hours for the Glossy Accents to dry, but I think the effect is worth it. I strung some twine between each pennant to create a banner. The party hats are cut in 3 different sizes. I embossed my photo mats with the Tim Holtz texture fade Gridlock pattern. These are the some of the best embossing folders and create a really deep embossed pattern. I used my ribbon on the photo mats to create a photo corner and as an additional embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my project!

Throwback Thursday Challenge

This is my entry for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge on her blog, My Creative Time.

This week she asked that we use the New Arrival cart, if we own it, and the theme is, baby. I don't own that cart so I used A Child's Year and Plantin Schoolbook.

Recipe:
Paper (including journal tag)-Fancy Pants 'Little Sprout'
Prima Flowers
Brads also from Fancy Pants
Twine-Papertrey Ink
Scallop Border Punch-Stampin' Up

The title 'Birthday Boy' was cut using Plantin Schoolbook. I welded the letters on my Gypsy. The balls, word art and the #1 are all from A Child's Year. I also used a a top note shape from Cindy Loo.

If you have time, please check out Emma's blog, she is very talented. Thanks for stopping by. I love comments and followers as well.

Throwback Thursday Challenge

Emma at My Creative Time, had another challenge for us this week. She asked us to use the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and the colors red, blue and brown. Red is my favorite color, so I was happy to oblige.

I decided to make a scrapbook page. In general I do two page layouts, but I was only able to take one picture and so it became a single page. I plan on adding a coordinating page.

The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye. I took some light brown/taupe cardstock and tore about a two inch strip to create the look of sand. The photo mats are from the SYI cart and I used the 'real dial size' feature on my gypsy to size them for my pictures. The word art, shells and sandcastle are all from SYI as well. Then I just added a prima flower, some red bling and a thick twine wrapped around the base. I also did a little bit of inking with some chai and chamomile ink from Papertrey Ink.
