Throwback Thursday-Christmas in July card

It's that time of the week, Throwback Thursday at My Creative Time. This week Emma challenged us to use the Wild Card cartridge. Our other instructions were to make a card with a holiday theme. My favorite holiday is Christmas. My extended family is pretty large, so it can get a little crazy, but I wouldn't want it any other way. In my family we really focus on the reason for the season, and cherish our memories, traditions, and everything we have been blessed with.

Onto the card: I cut the envelope and card on page 74 at 5 inches. The patterned paper I used is from Anna Griffin. I created my own shadow for the tree on the envelope so that it wouldn't disappear into the background. I cut the sash for the tree and then used rhinestones as ornaments. I cut out a white piece of cardstock, from Papertrey Ink, to line the inside of the card. I also added some white grosgrain ribbon to the ornament. To finish it off I added my sentiment and a little more bling to the card. This is definitely not a card you could mail.

This is a very simple card. If my creative brain had been working better I would have tried to think a little more out of the box, but today, simple won out. Please check out Emma's blog, she is so talented and you're sure to be inspired.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you come back soon. Have a sassy day! Kate
