I hope you are having a wonderful day! I have to admit Valentine's Day is not my favorite holiday and pink is not a color I use very often, but this year, well who know why, but I've used a lot of pink and created a lot of Valentine's Day projects. My Valentine this year is my handsome, perfect and incredibly intelligent 5 y.o. nephew, Micah. If you've ever been to my blog before I'm sure you've seen him since he's usually the center of all my layouts! If not, there's a picture of him on the left sidebar.
I've been making goodie bags for my nephew, to take to his Kindergarten classmates during each holiday this year, so of course Valentine's Day is no exception. I went super simple this time and used the pillow box from 'Wrap It Up' along with a circle punch, heart punch and some inexpensive ribbon I found at Michael's.
Here's a picture of a few of the boxes.
And then we thought it would be nice to make a little something for Micah's teacher as well. I picked up a few of these $1 mailboxes from Target and thought I'd decorate one for her. I used Martha Stewart's Valentine's Day paper pack to cover my mailbox. The pink ribbon is Papertrey Ink along with the flower dies and pink button. I used the Tim Holtz 'Paper Rosette' die and topped it with a heart shaped Martha Stewart punch. I think it turned out really beautifully and I hope she enjoys it. Of course I put a few little treats inside for her as well!
This mailbox is for my nephew. Red is his favorite color, mine as well, so I focused primarily on the colors red and black. The pattern paper is Bo Bunny 'Crush Collection' and the black cardstock is Bazzil. The red ribbon is PTI, as is the die cut. The hearts are from the MS punch and I used a circle punch as well. The "love" stamp was in the dollar bin at Michael's and I used red embossing paper to make it sparkle. I think it turned out really fun and not too girly, lol. I know he's going to like it and that's the most important part.
I hope you have a wonderful day and are surrounded by people who love you, because really that's what we should focus on today. I truly appreciate every one of you who takes the time to stop by my blog, and as always, I hope you like what you see and perhaps find some inspirations along the way. Thank you!
